Every dance,
at your speed.

These are the dances actually played at West Michigan country nights. No instructor talking you through it — just the dance, at whatever speed you need, looped as many times as you want.

Every dance below links to the clearest tutorial we could find, credited to whoever made it. We are filming our own versions with West Michigan instructors — because there is no single official version of most of these, and the one that matters here is the one your instructor teaches.
Brand new? Start with five moves and three dances rather than the whole list. Otherwise: nearly every dance below is built from the same twenty-five moves — grapevine, jazz box, rock step, coaster. Learn those twenty-five once and every step guide on this site starts making sense.

Start here

Nothing to learn but the pattern. If you have never danced a step, begin with one of these.

Once you have one

A little more to remember, but still forgiving. Most of the floor is doing these.

Getting comfortable

Assumes you already know a grapevine and can hold a count.

When you are ready

More turns, more restarts, faster. Worth learning once the basics are automatic.

Partner dances

These need a second person. Different skill, and the floor moves counter-clockwise.
