We did not make this video — we found the clearest one and linked it. There is no single official version of most line dances, so we are filming the version taught on West Michigan floors with local instructors. Teach it here?

Why this one is in the library

Active tutorial spread from the UK to South Florida in 2026.

The cheat sheet

What you are walking into

New, simple, and spreading from the UK outward. Two walls rather than four, which makes it gentler.

What catches people out

Two-wall means fewer disorienting turns. If four-wall dances lose you, start with this one.

How to get through it

Fewer turns means you can keep the same person in view the whole way through. Use that.

These are ours, written for someone who has not danced it yet — not a step sheet. For exact counts, see the choreographer's sheet linked above, or come to a night and let someone teach you.

How it goes

32 counts · 2 walls · Beginner

Two walls rather than four, so you keep your bearings. No tags, no restarts. Thirty-two count intro.

1–8

Side, together, side, touch

Step right, close, step right, touch your left in. Then the same going left.

9–16

Step, flick, step, flick, vine

Step forward right and flick your left up behind — slap the heel if you like. Then forward left, flick the right. Finish with a vine right and touch.

17–24

K step

Step diagonally forward left and touch. Diagonally back right and touch. Diagonally back left and touch. Diagonally forward right and touch, taking the weight.

25–32

Heels, pivot, stomps

Touch your right heel forward, step it in. Same with the left. Step forward right and pivot a half turn left. Stomp right, stomp left.

Written in our own words from the most-voted step sheet, so you can read it before you go. It is not the choreographer’s own notation — for that, see their sheet. Most of these dances have several versions; your room may do a different one.

Go dance this week

We do not claim to know which night plays which song. What we do know is where country dancing happens — here are three of the region's nights, and the calendar has the rest.
