Why this one is in the library

#1 on CopperKnob's most-popular chart at the time we checked.

The cheat sheet

What you are walking into

Brand new and spreading fast. High-beginner, so it is a fair one to try early.

What catches people out

New enough that nobody has posted a clear teaching video yet, so the room is your tutorial.

How to get through it

Stand behind someone confident and mirror them. Everyone in the room learned it that way.

These are ours, written for someone who has not danced it yet — not a step sheet. For exact counts, see the choreographer's sheet linked above, or come to a night and let someone teach you.

How it goes

32 counts · 4 walls · High beginner

Thirty-two count intro. One restart on wall 5, and a tag plus restart on wall 11 — the floor does these together, so watch and follow.

1–8

Stomp, swivel, kick, hook, quarter

Stomp your right forward. Swivel both heels right and back to centre. Kick your right forward, step it back, hook your left across your shin. Step forward left, then turn a quarter left scuffing the right through.

9–16

Vine right, vine left

Vine right and touch. Then vine left and touch — or make it a rolling vine when the lyric says 'spin her around.'

17–24

Monterey quarter turns, twice

Point your right out, then turn a quarter right bringing it in beside your left. Point your left out, bring it in. Do the whole thing again.

25–32

Rock, toe struts, rock

Rock forward on the right, recover. Step your right toe back and drop the heel, snapping your fingers. Same on the left. Then rock back on the right and recover.

Written in our own words from the most-voted step sheet, so you can read it before you go. It is not the choreographer’s own notation — for that, see their sheet. Most of these dances have several versions; your room may do a different one.

Go dance this week

We do not claim to know which night plays which song. What we do know is where country dancing happens — here are three of the region's nights, and the calendar has the rest.
