Why this one is in the library
Named a current favorite in two independent 2025 sources.
The cheat sheet
Not country at all, and it plays at country nights constantly. Nobody minds.
Improver level with a couple of restarts, which is where people fall out.
Learn where the restart happens. The floor does it together, so watch and follow.
How it goes
The most-voted sheet on this whole list. No tags, no restarts.
Hop, hold, bump, roll
Hop forward on your right, step the left beside it, hold. Bump your left hip, then your right. Then roll your hips slowly from left to right over four counts.
Cross rock, triple, quarter
Cross your right over the left, recover. Triple to the right. Cross your left over the right, recover — shimmy the shoulders here. Triple left through a quarter turn.
Cross point, cross point, jazz box
Cross right over left, point your left out. Cross left over right, point your right out. Then a jazz box with a quarter turn.
Step touch, rolling vine
Step right, cross-touch your left toe over. Step left, cross-touch the right over. Then a rolling vine right through a full turn — or a plain vine if you would rather not spin.
Go dance this week
We do not claim to know which night plays which song. What we do know is where country dancing happens — here are three of the region's nights, and the calendar has the rest.
