Cowboy Cha Cha
Takes a little practice, then becomes one of the most fun on the floor.

Cowboy Cha Cha - Learn How to Line Dance
Choreographers own their work. We credit them by name and send you to their official step sheet rather than reprinting it. Official step sheet on CopperKnob
Why this one is in the library
The standard country cha-cha; danced to many songs.
The cheat sheet
A partner cha-cha done in a loose circle, and one of the easiest ways into partner dancing at a country night.
It is danced to whatever the DJ picks, so the tempo changes song to song. Same steps, different speed.
Learn the triple-step first. Everything else in the dance hangs off that one rhythm.
How it goes
Danced to Neon Moon most often, but it works on any mid-tempo country track. Twenty counts, so it comes round fast.
Rock and cha-cha
Rock forward on your left, recover onto the right, then triple in place: left, right, left.
Back, recover, half turn
Rock back on your right, recover, then triple through a half turn left.
And back the other way
Rock back on your left, recover, triple through a half turn right.
Quarter turn
Rock back right, recover, triple through a quarter turn left.
Step and turn
Step forward left and turn a half right. Do it again. You are back where you started.
Go dance this week
We do not claim to know which night plays which song. What we do know is where country dancing happens — here are three of the region's nights, and the calendar has the rest.
