Lock Step
A shuffle where the trailing foot locks in tight behind.
How to do it
- Step forward on your right.
- Lock your left up behind your right, tucked close.
- Step forward on your right.
The thing people get wrong
The lock is tighter than a shuffle's slide. Ankles almost touch.
Dances that use it
This is one of about 25 moves that make up nearly every line dance. See all of them, or go to the mambo step.
